There is a wide range of things to do around Domaine de la Jarjatte in Labeaume. The sinkholes, cliffs, peaceful waterways, white water rivers, pretty villages and markets as well as stunning landscapes are ideal for visits, activities and events.
The Gorges de l'Ardèche that surround Labeaume are brimming with unforgettable places, traditional villages and legendary locations where you can stroll through breathtaking scenery.
A few kilometres from La Jarjatte is the area’s most popular tourist destination: The Gorges de l'Ardèche, natural jewel listed as a “Grand site de France” and given 3* by Michelin.
Whilst walking you will see the Pont d'Arc, a large natural arch and high corniche with breathtaking views, and the Grotte Chauvet, a new global prehistory sanctuary housing the world’s oldest cave drawings (over 30 thousand years old).
Near Vans lies the stunning Bois de Païolive forest, a stunning woodland of petrified rocks shaped like animals which is ideal for hikers and walkers.
The lack of rain in Ardèche Méridionale makes water rare and yet the underground natural reserves where potholers adore venturing into are brimming with it (over a thousand caves and sinkholes). The stunning Aven d'Orgnac is home to thousands of crystallisations in the heart of one of France’s largest cavities which makes it ideal for exploring the protected underground area (also listed as a “Grand site de France”). There are many other caves and sinkholes worth visiting: Grotte de Saint Marcel l'Aven Marzal, Grotte de la Madeleine and Grotte de la Cocalière to name but a few.
